This was one of my first projects at the HfG. The task was to design a poster for one of the productions in the current program of the Staatsoper Stuttgart. The challenge was to work exclusively with black and white and to focus primarily on typography.
To emphasize the tragic essence of Tosca, I incorporated a visual element resembling blood dripping down the typography. This detail symbolizes the drama and intensity of the opera‘s narrative. Additionally, I layered the typography in the background, creating an echoing effect that evokes a sense of lingering emotions and the reverberation of the story‘s themes.
