We created a metal music magazine inspired by our passion for the genre and ties to the local band When at Night. It features interviews with each band member, while also educating readers about the instruments and vocal techniques unique to metal, with design elements reflecting the genre‘s energy.
We used Montserrat for body text and Eagle Thunder, for headings and quotes. This combination reflects the energy of metal music, with Eagle Thunder adding contrast and freedom. In our final design, we kept some elements from earlier drafts, like justified text, but varied its layout for more dynamic. Black backgrounds were used for chapter breaks, and ragged right alignment was applied to quotes for a more natural feel. The color scheme was based on the images used throughout.
